Established in 2001, AkiDwA is a nationally recognized organization led by ethnic minority women residing in Ireland. We are dedicated to championing the equal rights of migrant women in Irish society, advocating for a society free of gender and racial stereotypes. In collaboration with various stakeholders, AkiDwA employs a holistic and gender-specific approach to facilitate the integration of migrant women into Irish society, offering support for their access to mainstream services and initiatives.
As part of our commitment to implementing the AkiDwA Strategic Plan 2022-2025, titled “Moving Forward Together, Bigger and Better,” and to further advance our efforts in combating discrimination and racism in the labour market, we are currently seeking qualified candidates for two positions: Project Officer and Project Administrator.
Role: Project Officer
The Project Officer will play a pivotal role in leading AkiDwA’s project focused on informing the development of anti-racism measures across various employment sectors. This involves engaging in critical dialogues about systemic, implicit, and explicit racism with key stakeholders, including migrant women and employers.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and conduct focus group meetings with migrant women.
- Facilitate focus group discussions with local employers.
- Conduct surveys among migrant women to collect demographic data and establish employment statistics across different regions in Ireland.
- Administer surveys among employers to assess the employability of migrant women.
- Identify, mobilize, and recruit employers for work placements and mentorship programs.
- Develop and establish a ‘badge’ initiative program for employers.
- Actively participate in organizational and relevant meetings.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the CEO.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- A third-level qualification in social sciences, economics, community development, human rights, or related disciplines.
- Experience in working with diverse groups of stakeholders.
- Extensive experience in conducting qualitative and/or quantitative research.
- Demonstrated ability to scope, manage, and oversee projects.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Confidence in facilitating focus group sessions.
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Capacity to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds, agencies, and sectors.
- Commitment to the principles of equality, cultural diversity, and anti-racism.
Role: Project Administrator
The Project Administrator will provide vital administrative support to the project, ensuring the smooth execution of project activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Project Officer to ensure activities are executed on time and within budget.
- Compile and manage project data entry and database maintenance.
- Create and maintain project-related documents.
- Administer and analyse the project budget in accordance with the agreement with the funder.
- Work with the Project Officer to identify, mobilize, and coordinate focus groups and meetings with employers.
- Assist in arranging focus groups and meetings with migrant women in collaboration with the Project Officer.
- Maintain organized records of receipts and invoices for all payments.
- Prepare financial reports and submit quarterly reports to the CEO.
- Actively participate in organizational and relevant meetings.
- Undertake additional duties as directed by the CEO.

Location Both positions will be based at the AkiDwA Office, Unit 2, Killarney Court, Upper Buckingham Street, Dublin 1, with occasional travel to different counties in Ireland.
