Online Conference: Migrant Women Stand Up to Covid-19

 

On 12th May 2020, AkiDwA organised an online conference for members to explore the challenges, supports and resilience that are becoming evident during the Covid-19 crisis. The Migrant Women Stand Up to Covid-19 conference provided a platform where migrant women could receive information and support. The conference also gave the women an opportunity to share their experiences, fears, strength and concerns and more importantly coping mechanisms. The discussions focused on five key major areas which are at greater risk due to lock down, these key main areas are: 1) Mental Health, 2) Reproductive Health, 3) Economic and Social Impact, 4) Family and Children, 5) Domestic Violence
