Funded by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration, and Youth (DCEDIY) in 2023, as part of the initiative to support the implementation of the International Decade for People of African Descent in Ireland, the Afro Art Festival is set to be a one-day event dedicated to celebrating and empowering Artists of African Descent residing in Ireland.

This festival will host a workshop specifically designed for Artists of African descent, featuring insightful addresses and interactive sessions led by a diverse panel of experts in entrepreneurship, employment, art, and culture. The workshop aims to identify the unique challenges faced by African artists in these fields and collaboratively explore potential solutions.

Through this enriching platform, the Afro Art Festival seeks not only to showcase the vibrant contributions of African artists to the cultural tapestry of Ireland but also to pave the way for greater inclusion and recognition in the arts sector.
